Who are we?
The Healthlink360 Team
We are a team of 10 doctors, a nurse, 3 counsellors and several administration staff. We are based around the UK but centred on the Edinburgh International Health Centre, just outside Edinburgh, Scotland. We can also call on a network of medical consultants from the UK and around the world for specialist advice.

Dr Jane Harrison, MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, DCCH
is a Medical Services Coordinator at the Edinburgh International Health Centre (EIHC). Jane trained in Edinburgh, qualifying in 1982, and has worked both in General Practice and in Community Child Health, joining the EIHC team in 2001. She is also a GP with a Medical Practice in Bonnyrigg, where she has a special interest in the care of patients with Diabetes. As a child Jane lived in Ghana, Uganda and Kenya.
Jane has been named Doctor of the Year in the Daily Record Scottish Health Awards

Dr Michael E. Jones, MB, FRCP (Edin), FFTM RCPS (Glasg), Dip PC
Hon Consultant Physician, was Medical Specialist at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, a teaching hospital in Northern Tanzania from 1976-82. He helped found Care for Mission in 1983 which merged with Medeserve to become HealthLink360 in 2007. He is a whole time Consultant Physician at the Regional Infectious Diseases Unit, Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, works at HealthLink360 two half days per week, is a co-opted member of the Board of the Faculty of Travel Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and makes regular visits to Africa with Lothian-Africa Health Links. He has advised the GP Newspaper Pulse on immunisations for travellers since 1994. His specialist interests are Tropical and Travel Medicine and HIV Management.

Dr Adele Pilkington, MBBS, MSc, FFOM MRCGP, CMIOSH, DDAM,DMS, BA(Hons)Th
is a Consultant Occupational Physician who joined the EIHC medical team in 2005. She provides medical services for a variety of heavy and light industry and is part-time Executive Director of the remote learning programme for Occupational Health at Manchester University.

Dr Elaine Griffin MB BAO BCh BA MRCP MRCGP DTM+H
Elaine joined HealthLink360 in the beginning of 2008. She works as a GP in West Lothian. Originally trained in Dublin, she moved to Scotland in 2003. She has recently taken time off work to study A Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Health in Liverpool.
Outside of work Elaine enjoys travelling, reading and walking.

Dr John Snelling MB BS MRCGP DRCOG FPCert
John works as a family doctor and a Primary Care Tutor and Mentor in Shropshire with a particular interest in Emotional Health and Family Dynamics. He has had a passion for supporting voluntary and aid workers, both at home and overseas for some years and started working with other members of the online team in 2001. John manages the Remote Services team. Other charity work includes being on the Council of Reference of Medic Assist International , a charity supporting overseas medical work in dangerous areas of the world, and as Medical Advisor to the Saltmine Trust.
John is a keen actor and musician, being involved in many stage presentations in different ways. He also attends Barnabas Community Church with his wife Alison and their three children, and is involved in cell group leadership in Whitchurch where they are hoping for growth

Dr Tim Lyttle MB BCh BaO MSc (Trav Med) MRCGP
A family doctor involved in Medical Management in North Wales, Tim has nearly a decade of experience in providing medical support to overseas workers. He has a master's degree in Travel Medicine and his other professional interests include Healthcare Management, Mental Health and Substance Misuse. His wider vision to support innovation in international healthcare involves his support of a number of other organisations, for example the Transformational Business Network .
Tim is married to Suzanne, and has two children, Bethany and Joel. The Lyttle family, originally from Northern Ireland, now live near Oswestry, Shropshire. He helps on the Remote Services team.

Dr James Muir MB BS FRCS (Ed) MRCGP AKC
James is a family doctor and surgeon in Shrewsbury and is on the Board of Medic Assist International , which involves him in fundraising and occasional trips to areas of crisis and oppression. Having spent his gap year in Pakistan in 1980, he developed a heart for the developing world and is now thrilled to be able - via HealthLink360- to support those who have ventured out to serve in the more needy areas.
James is married to Joanne and has five children. Having lived for many years in Bromley, Kent, he and his family recently moved to Whitchurch in Shropshire and are involved in Barnabas Community Church where James and Joanne are involved in cell group leadership and pioneering. His professional interests include Surgery, Diabetes and Dermatology. His non-professional interests include taxi driving, DIY and bringing up large families!

Dr Philip Reynolds BSc MBBS DRCOG MRCGP FPCert Dip Trav Med
Philip, a family doctor in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, has been involved in caring for global workers since 2001. Philip has had an interest in travel and the developing world since he was born and brought up in East Africa, and finds the work with the Remote team a rewarding way to combine his personal and medical interests in a way that helps others. The Diploma in Travel Medicine qualification has been very useful in this work. Philip has a special interest in Dermatology and Minor Surgery.
Philip and his wife Judith, together with their five children, are happily involved in Cirencester Baptist Church. They enjoy outdoor activities including walking, cycling and sailing, as well as Music.

Dr Damian Williams B.Med.Sc (Pharmacology) MB ChB MRCGP MSc (International Travel Health)
Damian works as a part time family doctor in Birmingham, choosing to spend the rest of his time in supporting overseas workers. Presently this involves the work with HealthLink360's Remote team as well as being on a the committee of the British Travel Health Association. In the past however he has spent time working in Papua New Guinea as well as shorter trips to Thailand, post-war Iraq (with Medic Assist International) and most recently to Myanmar.
Damian is married to Maggie, who shares his passion for this kind of work. He enjoys foreign travel, rock climbing and computers. He is not sure yet whether he is going to join some of the other doctors in having large families! Damian has a responsibility for helping with IT and website design for HealthLink360, and has developed this website.

Dr. Steve Edmunds MB BS DRCOG MRCGP
Steve works as a full-time family doctor in a semi-rural village in Shropshire. His medical interests include dermatology, respiratory medicine, and medical education. He never felt called to work abroad and has great respect for those who make that choice.
Steve’s wife, Caroline works as a practice nurse in Wales, and they have 3 children, one old enough to be at University. Steve is a member of Barnabas Community Church. The family interests include cycling and sailing.

Dr Joanne Bailey MB ChB, MA (Healthcare Ethics), DRCOG.
Joanne has been a family doctor for 18 years and is now a part-time GP in Hertford. Her clinical interests include women's health, stress-related problems and acupuncture. She has travelled but never worked abroad. She is thankful for the opportunity to serve with the Online Services Team.
At home she wants to take more exercise, enjoys reading and gardening and is happily involved with St Mary's Church. Joanne and Kim have a daughter of three and thoroughly enjoy family life.

Psychological Services at EIHC

Caroline Hunter, RMN; MASocAnt, Cert.Counselling
Caroline joined our Psychological Services team in June 2009. She began her working life as a psychiatric nurse and developed an interest in counselling.She worked in Pakistan with marginalised women around health issues. After returning to the UK she worked with Surestart running programmes for parents of under 3s before going to University in 2004, gaining a degree in Social Anthropology. Following a year working for Edinburgh Women’s Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Centre developing training packs and counseling women, she joined Healthlink360 where her role is to co-ordinate the psychological team and to develop the service. Caroline tells : "My ‘other’ role in life is that of Mum. I have three children, a mad dog and a cat who thinks he is a dog!” |

Joy Gowdy B.A, Cert. Ed., Ad Dip. C. Accredited counsellor with ACC
Joy , originally from Northern Ireland, joined Healthlink 360 in August 2005.She worked as a teacher with PCI/UMN in Nepal for over 10years before retraining and gaining her Diploma in Counselling in 2004. Joy has trained in Human Social Functioning and has a particular interest in Critical Incidence debrief. She has strong support from Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church in Bangor and, while in Scotland, enjoys worship and leads a home group at St Peter’s Episcopalian, Musselburgh.

Tamás Sánta BTh; COSCA Counselling Skills Cert; HNC (TA) Counsellor in training
Tamás and his wife, Maria, came from Hungary and have been living in Scotland for five years.
He qualified as a teacher in 2005 in Hungary and also as a theologian with BA degree in the same year.
Tamás joined the staff team in July 2007 and is working as a Trainee Counsellor from January 2008. He is training in Transactional Analysis at Queen Margaret University and also Human Social Functioning at Healthlink360.

Judy Hughes, Travel Nurse Practitioner.
Judy joined the HealthLink team in august 2008 having previously worked in General Practice since 1991. As a practice nurse she has developed special interest and expertise in travel health, respiratory care and heart disease management and is now enjoying the challenge of extending her role within the area of travel health. |

Inke Milligan, Practice Manager
Inke was appointed as Practice Manager in May 2006. She comes from Finland via Egypt where she worked with a faith based agency for 18 years.
She is married to a Scot has three boys and lives in Edinburgh.

Jane Wright, Accounts Officer
Jane has worked as a book-keeper for several other firms in Edinburgh and lives in Dalkeith with her husband and two daughters.
She joined the staff team in September 2004, since when she has worked hard to bring our accounting systems into the 21st century!

Margaret Dobie, Receptionist
Margaret started at HealthLink360 as receptionist in December 2006 after having mostly worked in retail.
She has a daughter and 2 sons and lives locally in Port Seton.

Janette McLaren, Travel Clinic Receptionist
Janette joined the staff in January 2008 after taking early retirement from the Royal Bank of Scotland where she worked since leaving school. She lives locally in Newtongrange and is married to Tony and has one son.
